The Department of Home Economics carries out the CMRU Model project, an activity to enhance professional careers in home economics for education students.

On July 8, 2023, Dr. Mayuri Chomphugam, the head of the Department of Home Economics at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, along with teachers and department staff, organized an extracurricular activity to enhance the education of students in the Faculty of Education. This activity, known as CMRU MODEL (Home Economics), was aimed at preparing students for their future careers as teachers by providing them with additional knowledge and skills in Home Economics that they can use in their work in schools and communities.

The event included practical training in Home Economics with three specific activities: caramel cornflake making, sandwich crafting for livelihood, and printing patterns on fabric using natural materials. A total of 102 students participated in these activities, which took place in the Home Economics laboratory on the 3rd floor of the Sci11 Building, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Mae Rim Center, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai.
