CMRU Joined the Sister City Committee Meeting

On 14th March 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Watcharapong Wattanakul, the Vice President of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University joined the Sister City Committee Meeting of Chiang Mai Province No. 1/2022 at Meeting Room 4, Executive Building, Chiang Mai Provincial Hall. In this meeting, Mr. Worayan Boonnarat, the Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province was the chairman, and the purpose of this meeting is to draft the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in terms of partnership between Chiang Mai province and Sejong City, the Republic of Korea and to consider the draft of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for establishing the sister city relationship between Chiang Mai province and Orhon province, Mongolia

Sejong City, the Republic of Korea is a big city of services and smart city with a hallmark of urban transportation development, while Chiang Mai province is the largest city in Northern Thailand. Therefore, establishing the relationship between the two cities is beneficial for the development of the region in the form of people-to-people exchange relations. The agreement will be conducted in partnership terms with Chiang Mai Province by exchanging knowledge in many aspects, such as smart cities, trade and investment, tourism, education, culture, and exchange visit.

For a part of the revision of the draft of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the aim of establishing sister city relations between Chiang Mai province and Orhon Province, Mongolia, the meeting had approved the amendment as suggested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
